we attempted tree drapping. For first timers it seems to have come out well. Unfortunayely someome fell off the tree as they were attempting to hang the cloth. Fortunately there were no broken bones reported just some spinning activity

over a couple of months we have been hosting birthdays at our home, The landscaping of our garden, beautiful scenery and hospitality of our staff is a major drive for people to come and celebrate their birthdays. We also have a big house which makes it so convinient and comfortable for large group celebrations. These are some of the reasons why Miss Rachel picked our home to celebrate her birthday. The birthday was very colourful, Yellow Gold with a touch of black.

clients requested an intimate event, accompanied by a private chef, decorator, photographer as well as events planner. Our guests had a fun filled weekend with lots of activites, indoor and outdoor games as well as delicious meals from our local chef. This was an all inclusive package of $150 per person inclusive accommodation for the weekend, all meals, a special 3 course lunch, decor, photographer as well as a personal events planner.

Day 1

The event kicked off with a 4 hour road trip from Harare. This was quiet exciting for the ladies as some of them were visiting Nyanga for the 1st time. Upon arrival at the home our guests were welcomed by our lovely staff followed but a scrumptous dinner prepared by our staff.

Day 2

This was the main day of the event. We called in our Chef who blessed the ladies with a hearty breakfast accompanied by a 3 course top of range dishes.

Day 2

On the last day before check out, the ladies went for a swim at the nearest waterfall before driving back to Harare.

OUR FIRST GIRLS RETREAT

The ladies pre-booked our famous Nyanga Day trip. Below is a rundown of activities and itinerary of a typical Nyanga Day Trip. This trip is led by our local guide Glenda who has a vast knowledge of the Nyanga area.

0800hrs - 0830hrs Left the house for a drive to Pungwe View. This is one of the most beautiful Views in Nyanga overlooking the Pungwe Gorge and the Pungwe Falls. We spent 15 minutes at the View appreciating God`s creating and taking pictures. This place is 7km away from the house.

0845hrs - 1000hrs We left the place for Mutarazi Falls which is just a few km away. At Mutarazi Falls some ladies did Skywalk which cost $40 per person and others did Zipline which costs $60 per person. We arrived there around 1000hrs. We took an hour and a half to do all activities as well as the COVID procedures. By 1130hrs we left Mutarazi Falls. Entrance fees to national parks are $5 per person, vehicle $15.

1130hrs - 1400hrs We left for Troutbeck Resort for other activities. Unfortunately one of the ladies lost her wallet so we had to go back to Pungwe View looking for it. Unfortunately, we couldn't do a Tour of the Rhodes Museum because of time but this is something we were supposed to do before going to Troutbeck. We arrived at Troutbeck around 1400hrs in time for activities. Some ladies did Horse riding, others did Canoeing and only 2 of them did the paddle boat ride. In exactly 1 hour everyone was done. Horse riding is $10 per person for 30minutes and canoeing is $5 per person for 30 minutes.

1500hrs - 1600hrs Because of time we also not able to go to the World`s View for a sundowner as were now rushing to go to Nyangombe Falls and also the ladies wanted to swim at the natural pool. We spent 20 minutes at Nyangombe falls. It was quite a hike for most ladies and only a few went down to the falls.

1615hrs - 1700hrs Our last stop was the natural swimming pool where the ladies enjoyed themselves taking a swim, drinking, and partying. We ended the day with a pre-arranged dinner at Rhodes Hotel. We had a 2-course dinner for $10 per person. 3 The course dinner is $15 per person.

We were back at the house by 2100hrs. This marked the end of our Nyanga Day Trip. Our guide fee is $20 per day for a group of up to 14 people.

TRIP TO RHODES MUSEUM

Cecil John Rhodes was a very short man. Evidence of his height lies at Rhodes Museum in Nyanga where the bed he used to sleep on lies. This Museum is at Rhodes Nyanga Hotel which was once his holiday home he frequently visited between 1897 and 1900. In this Museum you find most of the furniture he used during his stay at his Nyanga Holiday Home. The Museum building was once used by Rhodes for the stabling of horses. During his stay in Nyanga Rhodes carried out several experiments trying to establish agriculture. These experiments were successful as we see evidence of massive agriculture in Nyanga from potato farming, timber plantations, flower plantations, fruits farming as well as dairy farms. The present Nyanga National Park was once Rhodes` estate. After his death in 1902, his estate remained unused for years. In 1974 his original stable building was taken over by the National Trust of Zimbabwe with permission from the government to display persons and manuscripts, photographs, and exhibits relating to the development of Nyanga. In 1978 his estate was passed to National Parks. His estate now Rhodes Nyanga National Park is being maintained by National Parks and his house now Rhodes Nyanga Hotel is being leased from National Parks.

Among the exhibitions at the museum are displays of the Shona culture specifically the Manyika tribe, displays of the liberation struggle war heroes, archeology, and pottery.
